"Windoze" unsafety on PDA's.

Here's a small proof of what I'm saying... this is a co-workers Pocket PC with Windoze on it, which uses the Destinator 3 software for road navigation. I was so suprised when I saw this message on the PDA's screen. The message on the screen says "Ini data are not saved". I was straight start thinking how people is buying those stuff. Like I have a Newton 2000 and I haven't seen a single bug for years (and yes, I'm using a lot of software on it). I'm not trying to acuse the vendor of the navigation software, neither the PDA manufacturer, but it's all about the Microsoff corporation. So, would you trust this "win-ffected" gizmo to drive you home?

Long-time unreleashed.

A dedication to my enemys.

Get the fullsize image here.

For those who ask all the time...

No, the "8A428" is not the final release. Networking is not working (LAN not Internet connection) and also Sherlock misbehave. Also some said it would need a clean install in addition to work properly, and I ask, would a final product have the feature of restoring the user without not being implemented yet?? Come on!

Be patient!

Mac OS X 10.4 (8A428) - FPR - Opinion

What can I actually write about it? There's one thing I'm sure about, when Steven Jobs said "Tiger is Apple's biggest leap forward in decades" he was 100% real. New features are real from 1 to 200 (200 new features) and worth cent to cent. It's been done amazing work on this new major upgrade. 200 little things that can change your and your familys life. One thing that really impressed me is how much they've been focused on kids network safety (i.e. Safari, iChat) but keeping at the same time a really serius operating system with pro's features such as Automator and Spotlight. "Tiger" is an amazing piece of work Apple has done again and I would personally suggest to everyone using a G4 and up buying it. Amazing.

p.s. Long... what??

PowerBook G5 is really close. It will be possibly be announced on the WWDC 2005 or a week before (which is not that much possible but Apple has done this in the past).

Something extra for the upcoming PowerMac G5.

Dual Gigabit ethernet could be possible and DDR2 slots.

The results for X.3.9 update is fair enough. Normal performance is now back. Smooth network behaviour, no missing icons or external device conflicts any more. I suggest to all users.

I guess it was the "8" =)

New updates has arrived.

Mac OS 10.3.9
iSight 1.0.3

Let's hope the "9" won't be like "8". When tested results will be posted.

New Power Macintosh G5 configuration might be as follow, as thinksecret.com reports:

Dual-2GHz
512K L2 cache per processor
Dual 1GHz frontside buses
512MB PC3200 DDR SDRAM (4GB max.)
160GB Serial ATA Hard Drive
128MB DDR SDRAM ATI Radeon 9600 video card

Dual-2.3GHz
512K L2 cache per processor
Dual 1.15GHz frontside buses
512MB PC3200 DDR SDRAM (8GB max.)
250GB Serial ATA Hard Drive
128MB DDR SDRAM ATI Radeon 9600 video card

Dual-2.7GHz
512K L2 cache per processor
Dual 1.35GHz frontside buses
512MB PC3200 DDR SDRAM (8GB max.)
250GB Serial ATA Hard Drive
256MB DDR SDRAM ATI Radeon 9650 video card

I think a better DVD-RW could be added and middle model could be liquid too.

Is it the "8"?

Obviously X.3.8 update is not the best thing (confused icns, network misbehaviour, etc.). As I remember X.2.8 had also a lot of bugs.

So is it this bluddy "8"?

Who cares! we go back to the zero now (X.4.0) =)

Another speculation that I could make is that an iMac G5 Revision B and new eMac's should be soon released. That would be because Mac OS "Tiger" has the new Core Image key technology. This technology is as important as Quartz. So, to make it work, it requires 64MB of VRAM (Quartz requires 32MB). iMac G5 and eMac's has a 32MB VRAM graphics card. So new revision of both models should be considered must-be-done. As about Mac mini, which has a 32MB VRAM too, it would be really disappointning for "just-been" Mac mini users to release a Revision B. So there are two possibilities for it: push it to 64MB or leave it as is. That's all for now.

Today 2005/04/12 is a another historical day. Mac OS X 10.4 "Tiger" has been released and unleashed. In 17 days "Tiger" will be available in public (Friday, 29 April). The best just got better.

Mac OS X 10.4, Codenamed "Tiger" will be out this week or the next one. That's my speculations for now.

Mac OS (X ofcourse, 9 is dead) is a secure, Virus free operating system. Deal with it. Symantec experts can talk as much as they want, but  this terrorism race has been running quite a long time now and must come to an end. Understand this: Keeping this fear of "upcoming" viruses constant is vital for such companies, bringing more sales  and money for them. A noteable difference is that although there do exist hundreds of viruses written for wintel pc's, there has been no single report for the Mac OS (ACTUAL, not harmless proof of concept). Also keep in mind that far too many of the viruses "in the wild"  are an act of "protest" against Bill Gates or M$. I doubt that someone would create a virus for the Mac OS, when Apple changed the world. It seems that the only one who could possibly have reasons to make a virus for the mac could be Symantec, but there are two facts.

1. Mac OS is a solid, safe operating system leaving no chance for intruders.
2. Nahh... they wouldn't even bother to do so. The fear and mayhem they spread with their hoax-like reports is enough to keep their sales up.

Probably Apple should sue them.

Trust your Mac as your Mac trusts you and fear nothing. You got a Macintosh.
